The Mandela Leadership Tech Summit

career experience leadership networking

🦁 What a Summit and a Panel!
I just had the incredible privilege of attending the Mandela African Leadership Summit 2026 at the Glee Hotel, Nairobi — and I'm still processing the magnitude of the experience.
Standing alongside Ndaba Mandela, grandson of the legendary Nelson Mandela and CEO of the Mandela Institute for Humanity, and Amb. Dr. Amina J. Mohamed, former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, was a moment I won't soon forget. To be in the same room — on the same red carpet — with leaders who are shaping the future of Africa... that's the kind of energy that shifts your trajectory.
This wasn't just a conference. This was an African conversation on transformative leadership — covering innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, youth empowerment, and Pan-African collaboration. The caliber of speakers, panelists, and attendees was nothing short of extraordinary.

As a 10+ year Software Engineering Lead/Architect veteran with vast experience in AI/ML to specific - Africa is a crucible for tech innovation with real world problems to solve and the greatest growing market in the world and when it comes to ML/AI in the words of Ndaba Mandela, it's our time, let's we get disenfranchised in this field as ML models are as biased as the respresentation they get demographically - this is a fact and we all know it despite efforts to mitigate the bias it exists, stand up and get counted!

I we've to learn, connect, and contribute. I walked away with an incredible network of decision-makers, innovators, and changemakers who are serious about Africa's next chapter.
Nelson Mandela once said, "It always seems impossible until it's done." That spirit was alive and electric in every conversation, every handshake, every panel.
To everyone I connected with — this is just the beginning. Let's build. 🌍🔥
